On the Map (2022)

As a high school band director, I am always looking for exciting performance opportunities for my students and when our trumpet ensemble was accepted to perform at the Florida Music Educators Association annual conference, I knew I wanted to write something to celebrate the accomplishment.  On the Map is a noble concert opener that features heroic like motifs as well as some developmental double tonguing appropriate for advanced high school students and above.

On the Map will be premiered by the JW Mitchell High School at the FMEA Conference in January 2023.
